Tips to speed up your PC
1. Free up disk space - you can use the disk clean up tool to free some disk space on your PC or you can uninstall some applications or programs that you don't use anymore.
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
Click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
The more space on your Hard disk the faster you computer will be.
2. Run the Disk Defragmenter
In addition to running Disk Defragmenter at regular intervals—monthly is optimal—there are other times you should run it too, such as when:
A. You add a large number of files.
B. Your free disk space totals 15 percent or less.
C. You install new programs or a new version of Windows.
Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click Disk Defragmenter.
3. Detect and repair disk errors
As you use your hard drive, it can develop bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing (such as file saving) difficult, or even impossible. The Error Checking utility scans the hard drive for bad sectors, and scans for file system errors to see whether certain files or folders are misplaced.
4. Protect your computer against spyware or virus.
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
Click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
